Last Sunday, being a little bit afraid of feeling down in the dumps (due to the bad weather and November in general) as well as having enough of sitting in my flat, I decided to go to the seaside.
I chose La Manga, as it had been the place I wanted to visit for a long time. It's a seaside spit separating the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor. Due to the fact that it is a turistic region,
I had difficulties to get there during this season, especially on Sunday. I decided to take a bus to
Cabo de Palos, which is a village nearby and from there walk towards La Manga.

Cape Palos is a small resort, having its own harbour and a lighthouse, which is a significant spot on a cape.
Fromt here extends a view over the Mediterranean Sea, as well as La Manga itself.
As for Spain, the streets are really clean and the houses well-kept.

Spodziewałam się czegoś w rodzaju pchlego targu (jestem fanką second handów i zdobyczy vintage), a zastałam stoiska z chińską odzieżą i podróbki ciuchów znanych marek. Po przejrzeniu interesujących mnie stanowisk ruszyłam powoli w stronę La Mangi.

After going down from the hill (on which lays the lighthouse), I walked to the centre of the village, where every Sunday there is a market. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting something like a flea market (I'm a huge fan of second hands and vintage finds), but what I found were chinese-buy-everything-here stands as well as those with fake designer clothing.
After looking through the things I found interesting, I set off towards La Manga.

Next stop: the beach. La Manga has many beaches, the whole spit is more than 20km long.
By this season the town is deserted, especially on Sundays. For me, however, that was only an advantage, I could have been wandering through the coasts and listen to the wave sounds.
No shouts or crazy tourists, just calm.

Of course I didn't reach the end of the spit (anyhow my wandering in total was about 10km), because it wouldn't have any sense, for the whole length extend mostly hotels and summer houses.

Najbardziej chciałam dojść w to miejsce.

The place I wanted to reach the most was this bridge. Standing on it, you can see the Mediterranean Sea on the right side, while on the left there is a Mar Menor.
Above picture of the left side, below of the right.

Tu już droga na plażę Mar Menor.
Here already a road towards the beach of Mar Menor.

At this point it was really beautiful. Even more so because the weather cleared up, it was peaceful, clean and perfectly pretty.

Here's already a harbour in Cape Palos. My bus was departing from the village. By the harbour there are some really nice restaurants and bars. I went to one of those and ordered the biggest toast of my life. The significant (at least for me) problem was that in majority of places they don't accept credit/debit cards, I met refusal and suprised faces while I was asking about other payment methods than cash.

/ Spaghetti with a cream sauce, mould cheese, olives and tomatoes.

This is slightly different than my previous posts. Considering the fact that most of the time I prepare meals on my own and I try to mix different ingredients, I decided  to add here several pictures of what I eat and cook on my own. Some of them are my all-time favorites, others are just new recipes that I decided to put into effect. And yes, I love pasta.

Valencia part 2

So this is my second part of our trip to Valencia. Our plan for Sunday was to go to the aquarium, claimed to be one of the biggest in Europe. Only thinking of going there made me feel happy as
a child, the last time I went to such place was about six years ago and I have a very positive memories related to it.

Cały kompleks to tzw.

The whole complex is named Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) and it consists of different buildings such as Planetarium, museum, oceanographic aquarium or performing arts center.

In the foreground there is El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe — which is supposed to resemble the skeleton of a whale.

L'Umbracle. I heard that sometimes there are held parties or outdoor events and I'm really curious how it looks by this time.

To jedna z moich ulubionych części oceanarium.

This was one of my favorite parts of oceanographic aquarium. It looked like a cinema auditorium, but instead of a screen there was a huge fish tank. There was also playing some relaxing music, I could just sit there for hours and hours.

Our visit was finished by the dolphin show, which was amazing. Now my biggest dream is to have a dolphin.. At a certain moment I realized that I was standing and clapping my hands like a little girl, so I quickly calmed down. As a consolation I spotted my friend (sitting beside me) that was almost crying out of emotion. At the end of the day, we're all just like children, aren't we?

After half of the day spent in the aquarium we took our bikes and pedaled into city centre. We went to the cathedral and from there to the Micalet tower, climbing the stairs to the top (by more than 200 steps).

Valencia

Dzielnica cygańska / Gypsie district

Dwa tygodnie temu pojechałam z koleżanką do Walencji, w zamiarze odwiedzenia kolegi ze studiów
i zwiedzenia miasta.

Two weeks ago I packed some of my stuff and travelled to Valencia with my friend. The aim was to visit our friend from the university in Poland., as well as to explore the city, of course. Frankly speaking, I wasn't very optimistic with the whole trip, as the weather was getting worse and many of my spanish friends told me that there is nothing particularly interesting in Valencia. Oh, how wrong they were. I was personally pleasantly suprised by the city. But hey, no more useless words, let's see the pictures! I divided my so-called report into two different parts, as I didn't want to make
a massive, chaotic post (one way or another, there will be a  bunch of photos  in each one).

We arrived on Friday evening but since we were quite tired, we just took a walk in the neighbourhood, wandering mostly by the Turia river. The next day morning we took city bikes and rode to the beach.

Nearby the beach there is a gypsy district where they open a flee market during specific days
(I actually don't remember when exactly), but we didn't manage to go, unfortunately.

After quite a long riding we came back to the flat and prepared a meal. Then we took the bikes again and took the way towards city centre.

I'm still astounded how Spanish people are able to form the dimunitives from different words and how common such phenomenon is.

Ayuntamiento, czyli siedziba władz miejskich./ The city hall.

Po (prawie) całym dniu chodzenia i jeżdżenia na rowerach postanowiliśmy usiąść w jakimś spokojnym miejscu, zamówić kawę, porozmawiać i po prostu odpocząć, chłonąc klimat i atmosferę miasta. Niestety, nie było nam to dane. Mieszkańcy Walencji postanowili zastrajkować (nic nowego) przeciwko likwidacji lokalnej telewizji publicznej, idąc przez ścisłe centrum z banerami, wykrzykując przeróżne hasła (w dialekcie valenciano!) i powodując ogólne zamieszanie.

After the whole day of walking and riding a bike, we decided to stop by some quiet place and order a coffee, talk a little and enjoy the atmosphere of the city. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be like this. The inhabitants of Valencia decided to go on strike (nothing new, tbh) against liquidating a local public tv.
They were walking through the main streets of the city centre with some transparents, shouting out different mottos (in valenciano dialect!) and generally causing confusion. Some of them were really determined to defend their rights, for others it was just an excuse to meet with friends and an interesting way to vary Saturday's evening.

z przeróżnych krajów (z Polski importowano m.in.

On our way back we came across a shop with a great variety of beers, thay have quite a huge selection from different countries. I have to admit, that I'm not a beer fan, I drink it very rarely as
I don't like the taste, but I was walking inside as a child, watching everything, touching the colourful bottles, looking at diverse tastes and colors of  those beverages.
