Girona / Barcelona

1 stycznia wieczorem mieliśmy wylot z Wrocławia do Girony. Początkowo planowaliśmy od razu dostać się do Barcelony, ale jako że pobyt w hostelu i tak mieliśmy zarezerwowany dopiero od 2 stycznia, a na lotnisku w Gironie byliśmy dopiero koło 23:00 (w dodatku był Nowy Rok, mało kto wtedy pracuje), na bieżąco wymyślaliśmy plan B. Złapaliśmy autobus do centrum Girony, gdzie dotarliśmy jakoś po północy. Postanowiliśmy pozwiedzać miasto a następnie pierwszym pociągiem udać się już do Barcelony.

On the evening of January 1st we had a flight from Wrocław do Girona. Originally our plan was to get to Barcelona just after the arrival. However, our stay in a hostel was reserved for January 2nd (I mean, starting from that date) and also, we arrived at the airport just around 11pm , not to mention the fact that it was New Year's Day, so there weren't many people working, thus we needed to find the back-up plan. We caught a bus to the centre of Girona were we arrived about midnight. We decided to sightsee and then take the earliest morning train directly to Barcelona. 

Girona to niewielkie miasto położone nad rzeką Onyar. Jest dosyć ciekawe, chociaż tamtego dnia było zupełnie opustoszałe, bo nie dość że przyjechaliśmy w nocy, to jeszcze w czasie dnia wolnego od pracy, kiedy wszystko było pozamykane.

Girona is not a big city, located by the Onyar river. It is quite interesting, although that day it was totally deserted, because not only did we arrive in the (very late) evening, but also it was a bank holiday, so everything was closed.

Niestety, mój aparat nie spisuje się jeśli chodzi o zdjęcia robione nocą, a przynajmniej nie tamtego dnia, stąd tylko tyle (mało ciekawej) relacji z Girony. Katedra jest ogromna i szkoda, ze nie udało nam się wejść do środka. Szczerze powiedziawszy, jej otoczenie i sam fakt, ze nawa jest tak wysoka (wręcz monstrualna) potrafi dostarczyć strachu. Jeszcze przelatujące nad głowami (i wydające okropne dźwięki) ptaki sprawiły, że nie czułam się do końca bezpiecznie. Ogólne wrażenie jednak na plus, jak na takie małe miasto posiada wiele muzeów i ciekawych miejsc do zobaczenia, np. mury miasta, starówka czy dzielnica żydowska. 

Unfortunately, my camera doesn't perform well when it comes to night pictures, or at least it wasn't able to make anything interesting that night, so that's it for my brief (and dull) Girona's report. The cathedral is huge and it's a pity that we couldn't get in. Frankly saying, its surroundings and the fact that its nave is of such height (quite monstrous) may give sb a scare. Adding birds flying over our heads and making horrible sounds it all made me feel a little bit insecure. Although the general impression is positive, I would say. For such a small city there are quite a lot of museums and places of interests, e.g. the old fortifications, Jewish quarter or the old town. 

Rano złapaliśmy pociąg do Barcelony i po godzinie byliśmy na miejscu. Pierwsze co zobaczyliśmy po wyjściu ze stacji to Casa Batlló, której zdjęcia wrzucę jeszcze później, bo przechodziliśmy tamtędy codziennie, po kilka razy czasem. 

Early in the morning we caught the train to Barcelona and after an hour we were in place. The first thing we saw after leaving the train station was Casa Batlló. I'll add more photos of it later, as we have been crossing it everyday, sometimes even couple of times. 

Dopiero co się rozjaśniało, spędziliśmy trochę czasu przechadzając się i planując resztę dnia. 

It was still brightening up, we spent some time walking around and planning the rest of the day. 

W stolicy Katalonii najbardziej pociąga chyba architektura i fakt, że jednego dnia można znaleźć się w zupełnie różnych od siebie miejscach. Poza tym dominuje zieleń, czego na południu Hiszpanii tak bardzo brakuje. Tutaj jednak widać, że opadów nie brakuje, dlatego roślinność jest bogata, widać wszędzie dużo drzew, a balkony wręcz kwitną.

The capital city of Catalonia attracts with its architecture and the fact, that in one day you can be in totally different places, a distinct ones. Besides, everything is green which lacks in the southern parts of the country. Here you can see that there's enough rain so the plant life is reach, there are lots of trees everywhere and the balconies are (literally) blooming. 

Po zostawieniu rzeczy w hostelu poszliśmy do pobliskiego parku Turó i tam zjedliśmy drugie śniadanie. 

After leaving our stuff in a hostel, we went to the Turó park located nearby and we ate our packed lunch there. 

Później zaczęliśmy iść powoli w stronę Parku Güell. Zdjęcia stamtąd będą już w następnym poście.

Later, we started walking towards Güell Park. The pictures I took there will be in the next post.

Lorca

W Lorce byłam jeszcze z Maćkiem, wybralismy się tam w piątek, 1 listopada. Jako że w Hiszpanii tak jak w Polsce jest to dzień wolny od pracy, miasteczko było opustoszałe. Lorca to jedno z ważniejszych miast w regionie Murcia. W 2011 miasto ucierpiało z powodu trzęsienia ziemi, czego skutki widać do teraz.

As far as at the beginning of November, when my boyfriend was still here, we arranged a trip to Lorca, one of the most significant cities in the region of Murcia. Since 1th of November is considered as a bank holiday in Spain, we didn't see much people on the streets. The town was seriously damaged by the earthquake on 2011, which effects are still visible.

Chcieliśmy zobaczyć zamek położony na wzgórzu, mieliśmy więc przed sobą drogę do pokonania. Nie był to jednak żaden problem (pomijając fakt że poszliśmy szosą), tym bardziej że po prawej naszej stronie mieliśmy takie widoki jak na zdjęciu powyżej .

Our main goal was to see the castle, but we had to climb up to get there. The route wasn't hard to walk by, especially with having such views on our right side as you can see above.

Jak widać, niektóre domki do dnia dzisiejszego czekają na remont.

As you can see, some of the buldings are still waiting for being renovated. 

  

To już widoki z góry. Nie poszliśmy do muzeum, które znajduje się w zamku, bo najwyraźniej Hiszpanie świętują Halloween nieco dłużej i tego dnia była tam jakaś impreza dla dzieci; wszędzie krążyły małe dziewczynki przebrane za czarownice.

These are the views from the top. We didn't go to the museum which is situated inside of the castle, because apparently spanish people celebrate Halloween a little bit longer than it is supposed and there was some kind of a fancy dress party for children. Little girls dressed up as witches were hanging around and screaming, wasn't that a perfect way to spend a relaxing day?

Zamiast muzeum wybraliśmy więc kawę. Zaraz obok zamku znajduje się nowo zbudowany budynek będący hotelem z kompleksem spa, restauracją i kawiarnią.

Instead of staying in the queue and trying to get to the museum we decided to sit down and have a cup of coffee. Just beside the castle there is a new building which is a hotel with spa, restaurant and a café.

Po zejściu na dół i zjedzeniu, poszliśmy dalej w miasto. Odkryliśmy bardzo ładną dzielnicę (Alamedas de Lorca), z zadbanymi domami i ich ogrodami. Przechodziliśmy się wzdłuż okalających je alejek i podziwialiśmy czyste, zielone parki (co w tych okolicach nie jest oczywistością).  Był to z pewnością duży kontrast do widoku ruin budynków, które widzieliśmy po drodze do zamku.

After going down and eating lunch we went farther and discovered a pretty quarter with well cared-for houses and their gardens. We took a walk through beautiful paths and parks (this whole object is called Alamedas de Lorca). It was such a contrast to what we'd seen before, I refer to the destroyed buldings that we saw during our way up to the castle.

Chcieliśmy się wybrać na tapas, co nie było wcale takie proste, zważywszy na fakt, że z powodu święta większość knajp była zamkniętych. Przypadkiem jednak znaleźliśmy bardzo fajne miejsce z dobrym jedzeniem.

We wanted to go for some tapas, which actually wasn't that easy to do, considering the fact that the majority of restaurants and bars was closed during bank holiday. Luckily, we found a really nice place with a good food.

W sobotę pojechaliśmy na plażę San Pedro del Pinatar, ale zapomniałam zabrać ze sobą aparatu. Stamtąd przeszliśmy piechotą  na plażę San Javier. Pogoda była świetna, ludzi niewielu, a woda czysta (plaża jednak nie dorównuje tej w Callablanque).

Niedziela była leniwa, ale od pewnego czasu chodziły nam po głowie owoce morza, więc postanowiliśmy się trochę zabrać za gotowanie. 

On Saturday we made a trip to San Pedro del Pinatar beach, which is not far away from Murcia city. Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera with me, so there won't be any photos. We took a walk from the beach previously mentioned and reached the other one, called San Javier. The weather was brilliant, the water clean and luckily there wasn't much people staying outside during that time.

Our Sunday was quite lazy, but since we have been thinking about seafood for a while, we decided to take the matter into our hands and try to cook something.

I co z tego wyszło? Smażone krewetki w panierce a do tego kremowy sos czosnkowy. Dodatkowo zrobiłam też frytki z batatów.

This is what happened. Breaded fried shrimps with garlic cream sauce. I also made some french fries from sweet potatos to serve it together.

Kolejna rzecz to małże w białym winie i pomidorach z TEGO przepisu. Swoją drogą, uwielbiam Kwestię Smaku, moim zdaniem jeden z lepszych polskich blogów kulinarnych, mój osobisty nr 1.

The other thing was clams in white wine and tomato sauce. Can't complain :)

Alicante part 2

Wrzucam obiecaną dawkę zdjęć z naszego drugiego pobytu w Alicante. Spędziliśmy tam tylko kilka godzin porannych, jako że Maciek miał lot do Polski o 13. 

Here's a bunch of photos from our second time in Alicante. We spent there just a couple of morning hours, as my boyfriend had a flight to Poland.

No i zaczęły się schody.. Wybraliśmy ciekawą drogę, schody prowadziły wzdłuż uroczych domków, w połowie drogi był też park oraz świetnie wyglądająca, przeszklona restauracja z widokiem na miasto. 

And then the tough part began.. But we chose an interesting way, along small and charming houses. In the middle of the distance there was also a park and a beautiful restaurant  from where you can see the city panorama.

Następnym razem na pewno tam pójdziemy! / We'll surely go to this place the next time we're in Alicante.

Po wejściu na górę widok jest imponujący. Istnieje również możliwość zwiedzenia muzeum, które mieści się w twierdzy.

After climbing up the view is impressive, I have to admit it. There is also a museum inside of the fortress. 

Powrotną drogę wybraliśmy idąc wyznaczonym szlakiem wzdłuż muru i zajęło nam to o połowę mniej czasu niż wejście. 

We took our way back by walking along an appointed route and it took us half the time of climbing up.

Po takim zejściu nadszedł czas na coś dla żołądka, zjedliśmy trzecie śniadanie a później poszliśmy na szybkie tapas, znowu do 100 montaditos. Chyba najbardziej smakowała mi kanapka z serem kozim, prażoną cebulką i sosem miodowo-musztardowym.

After such descent it was the high time to eat something. We went for our third breakfast and then quickly jumped to 100 montaditos (again!) for some tapas. I probably liked the most a sandwich with a goat cheese, crispy onion and a honey-mustard sauce. 

Alicante

Dwa tygodnie temu przyjechał odwiedzić mnie mój ulubieniec, aka Maciej. Pojechałam po niego do Alicante i tam spędziliśmy prawie cały dzień, głównie leżąc na plaży i ciesząc się słońcem (w Murcii akurat się ochłodziło w tym czasie, tam natomiast było całkiem przyjemnie). 

Two weeks ago I was finally reunited with my bestie, aka my boyfriend! I went to pick him up from Alicante and we spent almost the whole day there, laying on the beach, swimming and enjoying the sun (as in Murcia the weather was getting worse back in that time). 

Chcieliśmy pojechać trochę dalej na plażę, nie tak blisko centrum, ale nie mieliśmy wystarczająco czasu. 

W tych miejscach woda nie była taka czysta, ale nie ma co narzekać!

We wanted to go to the beach farther from the city centre, but didn't have enough time to manage it. 

In these parts the water wasn't that clean but hey, no complaints!

W Alicante warto wejść (lub wjechać windą) na skalistą górę, na której znajduje się twierdza Castillo de Santa Bárbara. Stamtąd rozciąga się widok na miasto. W tym dniu nam się to nie udało, ale weszliśmy tam przy następnym wyjeździe do Alicante, postaram się jutro wrzucić zdjęcia drugiej części.

There is one particular place in Alicante worth-visiting. It is Santa Bárbara castle which lays on the Mount Benacantil and it offers a panoramic view overlooking the city. We wanted to climb up there that day but then calculated how much time is left and decided to go the other day. After 4 days we came back to Alicante and went there, so I'll try to post the second part of 'visiting Alicante'  tomorrow.

Po kawie i śniadaniu poszliśmy na tapas do 100 montaditos. Oferta główna składa się z tytułowych montaditos, czyli małych kanapek z przeróżnymi dodatkami. Do tego koniecznie sangria, żeby był iście hiszpański klimat! Bardzo polecam lokal, ceny niskie, szybka obsługa, a jedzenie naprawdę w porządku. 

After a breakfast with coffee we went for the tapas to  100 montaditos. The place offers different so-called montaditos, that is little sandwiches with different flavors (many spanish charcuterie and local delicacy). For that we ordered sangria which really suits such food.  I highly recommend visiting this bar, the prices are low, the service quick and the meals are really good.
